What Makes Dooleys Different for Health Insurance in Ireland

At Dooleys, we believe health insurance in Ireland should be easier to understand. Many people feel that health insurance is too complicated, too technical and too difficult to compare. Our role is to take the myth out of health insurance and provide clear advice that is built around your needs.

Why choose Dooleys for health insurance in Ireland

Choosing health insurance is an important financial and personal decision. At Dooleys, we focus on giving clear and impartial guidance so that you understand what you are paying for and why it matters.

Our approach is based on advice, not confusion. We explain technical terms in plain language. We review your current position. We help you compare what matters most.

Personal health insurance advice that fits your needs

Many people searching for health insurance in Ireland want the same thing. They want someone to explain their options clearly and help them choose cover that suits their real life. That is where Dooleys adds value.

We work with clients who are new to private health insurance and with clients who already have a policy in place. In both cases, our aim is the same. We want to help you understand your cover, avoid common misunderstandings and make a better informed decision.

What is Lifetime Community Rating in Ireland

One of the most important terms in Irish health insurance is Lifetime Community Rating.

Since 1 May 2015, if you are aged 35 or older when you first take out private health insurance in Ireland, you may have to pay a Lifetime Community Rating loading. This means an extra charge can be added to your premium.

In general, the loading is 2 per cent of the premium for each year above age 34 when you first take out health insurance, up to a maximum loading of 70 per cent. This loading can apply for up to 10 years.

Important Information

At Dooleys, we help clients understand whether Lifetime Community Rating applies to them and whether there may be factors that reduce the loading. This is one of the reasons why professional advice is so important when arranging health insurance in Ireland.

Expert Guidance

Health insurance for families in Ireland

Family health insurance should reflect the needs of the household, not a generic policy recommendation. At Dooleys, we look at the bigger picture. We consider your current circumstances, your concerns for the future and the type of cover that may be most relevant for your family.

For some families, the priority is access to private hospitals. For others, it may be day to day medical costs, future health risks or making sure children and parents are protected under the right level of cover. Our role is to explain the options clearly and help you make a decision that feels informed and appropriate.

Health insurance for business owners and company directors

Business owners and company directors often need a more tailored approach to health insurance. Personal protection, continuity and financial planning can all play a part in the decision. At Dooleys, we help business clients assess their options carefully and choose cover that matches their personal circumstances and wider responsibilities.

If you are self employed, running a family business or reviewing existing benefits, health insurance should be looked at in the context of your overall needs rather than in isolation.

Why clear advice matters when comparing health insurance

Comparing health insurance plans in Ireland can be difficult if you are relying only on product names and price. Two policies may look similar at first glance but offer different levels of access, benefits and suitability depending on your circumstances.

That is why advice matters. At Dooleys, we help clients move beyond surface comparisons and focus on what is actually relevant to them. We explain the detail in a clear and practical way so that you can make a decision with greater certainty.
