he Health Insurance Authority (HIA) has announced a price change affecting the Laya Healthcare Essential Connect Health plan, effective from 1 September 2026.
According to the HIA, customers who hold this plan should receive details of how the revised price applies to their cover in their renewal notice. If you are currently mid-contract, the HIA states that your price will not change until your renewal date.
What does this mean for Laya Healthcare customers?
If you are insured on the Essential Connect Health plan, it is important to review your renewal documentation carefully when it arrives.
Health insurance plans can differ in terms of benefits, hospital cover, excesses, eligibility requirements and other policy conditions. A price change may also be a useful time to review whether your current health insurance arrangements continue to suit your individual or family circumstances.
Reviewing your health insurance options
The HIA provides an independent Health Insurance Comparison Tool that can help consumers compare available plans and benefits.
At Dooley Insurance Group, we understand that choosing and reviewing health insurance can involve more than simply looking at the premium. It is important to consider the type of cover you need and to understand the terms and benefits of any policy you are considering.
If you would like to discuss your health insurance arrangements, our team can help you review your options and provide information based on your individual circumstances.
