IRISH INVESTORS ARE now positive about Ireland’s future, according to RaboDirect’s Investor Barometer. The measure, which has been tracking investor sentiment since April 2010 has, for the first time, recorded a positive in this regard. The barometer is based on the responses of 413 RaboDirect customers who held investment accounts as of January 2013 The results also showed that 55 per cent of people were confident about the outlook for the Irish economy over the next three months. IRISH pension managed funds recorded gains last month, with average returns of 1.1 per cent, as markets swung their way. MORTGAGE lender ICS Building Society has had to refund 1,500 customers after overcharging them for their home loans, the Irish Independent has learnt. THOUSANDS of mortgage holders face higher repayments after KBC Bank became the latest lender to hike its interest rates. The Belgian-owned bank will increase its variable rates by 0.25pc from the start of April in a move that is set to cost a family with a €200,000 mortgage an extra €360 a year. The mortgage move came as a new survey pointed to a rise in house prices in Dublin, sparking hopes that five years of falls in values are at an end. […]
